Over the past 40 years, the festival has become a not-to-be-missed event for comic book fans in France. The Blois Comic Strip Festival is one of the most eagerly awaited cultural events in France. Over the course of 3 days, it will bring together more than 200 authors.
Entirely free of charge, the festival takes over the town, right down to the staircases. This year, a performance by Madeleine Riffaud, a figure from the Resistance, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.

The book fair
The nerve centre of the festival is the Halle aux Grains, right in the town centre. The site hosts a huge 2000m² book fair, with 82 exhibitor stands. Sales and signing sessions will be on the programme over the 3 days.
All styles and all ages will be represented.

Around the show, you’ll be able to visit 13 exhibitions at venues across the city. Some authors and illustrators will be offering guided tours of their exhibitions.
If you’d like to hear the artists talk about their art, there will be 8 round tables, debates and conferences. Themes range from Taiwanese comics to the French Resistance.
Les Lobis cinemas will be showing 5 films: Frankenstein, La Mouche, Arco, Les plus belles histoires de Quentin Blake, Jordan – Itinéraire d’un pionnier, etc.
